Our extra-curricular highlights
Debating and public speaking
At Panania Public School, students are encouraged to develop their communication and critical thinking skills through participation in public speaking and debating competitions. These opportunities allow students to express their ideas confidently, think critically and engage respectfully with different viewpoints.
Creative and performing arts
At Panania Public School, our Creative Arts programs provide students with opportunities to express themselves, develop their talents and build confidence through the performing arts.
Our school participates in the Bankstown Dance Festival, the Schools Spectacular at Sydney Olympic Park and the Cantabile Music Festival at the Sydney Opera House.
Excursions
At Panania Public School, we believe that some of the most valuable learning happens beyond the classroom. Our students enjoy a wide range of excursions and camps that allow them to explore new environments, develop important life skills and make meaningful connections to their learning.
These experiences enrich student learning, build confidence and create lasting memories that support both academic and personal growth.
Intergenerational Program
Students from Panania Public School recently attended Panania Library to participate in our 2026 Intergenerational Program. This program brings together students, Inspiration Mentors and local community members to foster meaningful relationships through shared learning experiences. Working collaboratively, participants took part in engaging STEM activities and problem-solving challenges, learning from one another's knowledge, skills and perspectives. It was a rewarding experience that strengthened connections across generations and demonstrated that learning is a life long process.
Stage 3 Canberra Camp
Stage 3 students recently embarked on an exciting three-day camp to Canberra, where they explored Australia’s history, government and national identity. During the camp, students visited Parliament House; the Australian War Memorial; the Governor-General’s House; the Australian Electoral Commission; and the Australian Institute of Sport. At Questacon, students enjoyed interactive learning experiences that encouraged curiosity, problem-solving and scientific thinking. These experiences provided students with valuable real-world learning opportunities that connected directly to the NSW Stage 3 History and Science curriculums.
PSSA
At Panania Public School, sport plays an important role in developing teamwork, resilience and school spirit. Through our participation in the Primary School Sports Association (PSSA), students have the opportunity to represent our school in a variety of sports including soccer, netball, basketball, AFL, touch football, T-ball and cricket. Our dedicated teachers coach teams by running weekly training sessions that build student skills, confidence and sportsmanship. Each Friday, our teams compete against local schools, enjoying the excitement of competition while building friendships and demonstrating pride in representing Panania Public School.
