What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our canteen makes an important contribution to school and community life, focusing on providing healthy food at a reasonable price.  The canteen is open four days per week and is run, under the auspice of the P&C, by a paid manager.

To order your child's lunch, simply write their name, class and lunch order on a paper lunch bag enclosing the required money.  Orders are placed in a class 'canteen order crate' which is taken to the canteen.  Lunches are returned to the classroom just before lunchtime.

The Canteen Committee is always looking for new volunteers to help in the canteen, so if you can spare a little time to help in this important activity, it would be very much appreciated.  Canteen profits help to provide students with equipment not provided from other sources.

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Learn more about the NSW Department of Education’s School Uniform Policy.

The Panania Public School community supports the wearing of full school uniform, including a school hat, as a matter of pride and to develop a sense of belonging.  All students are encouraged to wear school uniform.  This is more economical than having a variety of clothes to be worn each day and it saves many ‘hassles' in the mornings for you as parents.  We have received many compliments about how smart the students from Panania look in their uniform, particularly when we go out on excursions.

Uniform shop

The school operates a Uniform Shop, which is run on a voluntary basis by parents.  This is located adjacent to the Administration Office in Lawler Street and is open each Friday morning from 8.45am until 9.30am.

Ready-made uniforms, at very reasonable prices, are available from the uniform shop, along with quality second-hand uniforms for both boys and girls.

Hiring our facilities

You may apply to use our school’s facilities for appropriate purposes provided your hiring the facility does not interfere with our teaching and learning programs.
